Mold & Mildew - Eventually, a mildewed surface can start to grow algae and moss. Worse, it can permanently penetrate surfaces if given enough time to grow deeply. The other requirements for developing mildew are shade and moisture. These conditions are related, because shaded areas stay moist longer. "Moisture" can mean dew as well as rain.
Furthermore, unless the surface is sealed against dirt, the problem can quickly come back. Because of this, we follow up our mildew removal work with a wax coating that slows down the return of the problem. The wax repels water and dirt, and also makes it easier for the homeowner to keep the surface clean with routine hosing. Removing mildew is one of the quickest ways we know of to give a house a "just painted" look. The effect is quick and dramatic. |
