Commercial buildings -
can present slightly different problems from residences. Our commercial experience ranges from small storefronts to 100,000 square-foot structures, from very old to recent.
Old brick commercial buildings often have limestone details (brick houses typically had wood or cement). In addition, downtowns during the turn of the century were usually more sooty than neighborhoods. For these reasons, cleaning commercial buildings often involves a step or two more when cleaning.
Even newer buildings develop layers of soot because of downtown vehicle exhaust. On the building pictured above, different bricks, with different surface characteristics, absorbed soot unevenly. The resulting speckled look was nearly eliminated by the cleaning process
